2021 NORDP Rising Star Award Winners
The National Organization of Research Development Professionals (NORDP) is pleased to announce the 2021 winners of the Rising Star Award. Each year, the Rising Star Award recognizes up to three NORDP members who have made outstanding volunteer contributions to NORDP. Nominations for this award may be submitted by any NORDP member. The 2021 Rising Star Awardees are Katie Shoaf and Rachel Goff-Albritton
Katie Shoaf (Appalachian State University) It seems Katie Shoaf is continually volunteering her time and expertise for the benefit of NORDP members. In addition to co-chairing NORDP 2021, Katie contributes to the Mentoring Committee by being involved with the National Research Mentor Training curriculum as a liaison with the Professional Development Committee, is a member of the MESHH team and the Peer Mentoring Groups, as well as being a mentor and mentee. She is active in the Professional Development Committee as the leader of the Production Working Group and has helped advance important initiatives like NORDP LEAD, which is a program to grow Research Development and NORDP leaders, and the RD101 working group that has piloted Research Development curriculum. Her many contributions are making a meaningful impact land helping to advance NORDP’s mission.
Rachel Goff-Albritton (Florida State University) Dr. Rachel Goff-Albritton has served on the Mentoring Committee and its subgroups including NORDP’s involvement with the National Research Mentoring Network and assisted with the development and implementation of NORDP’s first RD Mentor Training series that was piloted this year. She has also served as a mentor through the NORDP mentoring program. Rachel has served on the Nominating Committee, and is a member of the Southeast NORDP Affinity Workgroup. She has presented at every annual NORDP conference since she joined our organization.
