NORDP 2018 Annual Research Development ConferenceBack to Workshops ListRegister NowEnhancing Effectiveness of Collaborative Teams by Engaging Individual Motivation ($160)(4 hours)The Motivation Assessment for Team Readiness, Integration, and Collaboration (MATRICx) is a tool for identifying individual motivations for collaboration in a knowledge producing team. MATRICx produces individual cooperation and collaboration profiles comparable with team and composite data informing knowledge producing teams about internal motivations for collaboration. MATRICx data informs team intervention strategies that emphasize how to capitalize on motivations found within teams. The 6 domains of the tool (resource acquisition, maintenance of beliefs, recognition and reward, advancing science, building relationships, and knowledge transfer) provide a platform by which teams can enhance effectiveness. By the end of this workshop, participants will learn about the science behind the MATRICx, participate in its utilization, actively participate in learning activities based on these domains of motivation, and be versed in how to utilize the instrument and lead interventions with their teams at their host institutions.
